Yesterday I fell down the stairs of a close friend's house and managed to give my coccyx a hairline fracture and get a very stiff neck. BUt never-mind the fact that I've been practically immobilized, the real issue (apart from being unable to work, and, consequently, being unable to earn more money) is the fact that when I went to the hospital, I had to endure the humiliation I thought only reserved for the senior members of society.

That is, being half-naked and unable to walk properly in front of various X-ray Technicians, Critical Doctors, and other unwell people.

First we got to the hospital, and had to wait. Then we filled out a from, handed it back, and had to wait. And then they asked me what happened to my back, and we then we had to wait. Then they called me into the emergency ward, and I had to wait. Then a Nurse came in and asked me how I was. (Cue wavery voice - people with stethoscopes intimidate me) - "I'm ok....I think"
- and then I got to wait some more.

Then she came in (She being my doctor, possibly from Canada, cos I ain't never heard an accent like that 'un) and asked a few questions. And prodded my spine in every way possible. And then told me I had either bruised or broken my Coccyx. A.K.A - BUM BONE.

And then she went. And I waited some more. And then a nurse cam in and handed me a white dress thing. And asked me to kindly remove my jeans. And then she put on the smock-like piece of cloth. And then she left me to wait some more. And then the X-ray technician came and checked on me. And then he left me to wait some more.

And then he came back and got to walk (hunched over, with a stiff neck, in nothing but my shoes, shirt, undies and an OPEN BACK SMOCK!

AND THEN I got to lie for about 15 minutes in various poses while he showed the intern what to do and which button to press and how to realign my hips. And then it was over. And they gave me two packets of heavy duty drugs and told me to go home and take it easy.

Well, God, I hope you are bloody happy with yourself.

And also, it may flood.

Cesse.

Awwww, I was going to try and say something to make you feel better but I'm having a hard time coming up with something. That does sound pretty bad. Hope it stops hurting soon - maybe you'll even laugh about it in a few years...
